Oughterard Community First Responders Group

Community First Responders (CFR) are volunteers who are trained to attend certain types of emergency calls in the area where they live or work. Our aim is to reach a potential life threatening emergency in the first vital minutes before the ambulance crew arrives. Our role is to help stabilise the patient and provide the appropriate care including defibrillation, until ambulance crew arrives on scene to take over the treatment.

We train regularly and keep our skills updated so we can respond to cardiac incidents in the Oughterard area. Fundraising is vital to help us acquire training equipment such as mannequins and AED trainers. All of our First Responder kit also comes from fundraising routes, and your generosity can help towards saving a life. These funds will keep our Group functioning and growing into the future.
